Two of the most important things in life are:
1. the detail
2. the bigger picture
The bigger is what all things come together to form. For example, we all, as Berom, Arnaguta, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa and so forth come together to form Nigeria. In a landscape portrait, the flowers along with the trees, hills and houses are all important to the formation of the bigger picture.
On the other hand, the one sun flower could be the focus of attention. The attention paid to that single detail determines whether that painting becomes a masterpiece or ends up as a waste. The same thing applies to life.
So many of us have a great vision of what we want our lives to be. Many of us want to be at the top of our fields, we all want to live a much better life and in our heads, we have a picture of what a perfect life would be. One major problem is that a good number of us don’t appreciate how the little things we do today affect the big things we want to happen tomorrow.
Kind gestures, especially when not begged for tells the person that you really care. Standing your ground when you’re expected to fold under threat or pressure presents you as someone who should not be fooled around with. Keeping your surroundings clean even when you’re not expecting a guest not only helps you stay healthy but prepares you in case of an impromptu visit.
It is the little things in life which make up the bigger picture and if we’re able to get the little things right, the overall picture would be truly fantastic.
Until next time, this is Cruise Control and I’m Oloye Emeka saying, life na cruise, catch am.
